Brandi Price, RN
All classes
Brandi has an Associate Degree in Nursing from Shelton State Community College.  She has 7 years of experience with infants and pediatrics.  She worked at Tuscaloosa Pediatrics and currently works as needed in the well baby nursery and NICU at DCH Regional Medical Center.  She joined Rise in 2015.
 
Melinda McKinney, LPN
Three Year Old Class
Melinda has a Licensed Practical Nurse Degree from Bevill State. Previous experience includes Medical-Surgical Nursing and Adolescent Psychiatric Nursing before joining Rise in 2014. First Aid, CPR, AED certified.
 
Lisa Whitley
Five Year Old Class
Masters Degree in Collaborative Education through Project TEEACH with and undergrad in early childhood and elementary education from the University of Alabama. Experience includes 17 years of teaching with 14 years at Holy Spirit School as a second grade teacher, Kindergarten teacher and Resource teacher. She joined RISE in 2012.
 
Kelsey Anne McFadden
Infant Class
Graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in Child Development. Currently pursuing a Masters degree in Early Childhood Special Education at UAB. Previous experience at Rise includes volunteer work as well as a 3 month teaching internship. She has been working at Rise since 2013.
 
Candia Harrison-Morris
Infant Class
Worked in Tuscaloosa County School System, including substituting in special education classes, for 8 years. Previous experience at Rise includes volunteer work as well as substitute teacher's aide. She has been working at Rise since 2013.
 
Laura Harvey Dishuck
Infant Class
Laura received her BA in Early Childhood Education from Birmingham-Southern College in 1983. Soon after graduation she married John and moved to Mobile, AL where she taught 1st grade and/or Kindergarten in the Mobile County School System for three years. They moved to Tuscaloosa in 1991. The mother of four children, Laura has always enjoyed being involved in their academic and extra-curricular activities, from swimming to horseback riding. Laura has served as Chairman of the Board of Kiddie Kollege Preschool, taught Sunday school at First United Methodist Church, was supportive in the formation of The Capitol School, and was a substitute teacher at Holy Spirit Regional Catholic School for fourteen years. She first volunteered at RISE in the early 1990’s, through the Junior League of Tuscaloosa. Laura returned to RISE as a volunteer in the Infant Room, in the fall of 2013, after her last child left for college, and was hired as a Teacher Assistant in February 2014.
 
 
Nicole Crawford
Four Year Old Class
2 years of course work at the University of West Alabama and a certificate from DCH school of Radiology Technician.  She has 6 years of experience working with kids with special needs and has been a teacher assistant at RISE since 2013.
 
Terri Patton
One Year Old Class
Three years of coursework at Shelton State Community College. Previous experience as a volunteer at Rise and a childcare assistant at ACA. She has been a teacher assistant at Rise since 2008.
 
 Leigh Carlee
One Year Old Class
Education includes elementary education coursework at The University of Montevallo. Previous experience includes nine years as a childcare worker. She has been a teacher assistant at Rise since 1998.
 
Sandra Dailey
Two Year Old Class
Experience includes 12 years in various childcare settings. She has been a teacher assistant at Rise since 2000.
 
Ashley Gavin
Five Year Old Class
Ashley graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. Before joining Rise in 2010 she gained experience as a student worker. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Special Education at the University of West Alabama.

 
Yvonne Densmore
Infant Class
Education includes a licensed practical nursing degree and three years of classes at The University of Alabama in Elementary Education. 30 years experience as a nurse. She has been a teacher assistant at Rise since 2000.
 
Melei Renicks
Three Year Old Class
Previous coursework in Child Development. She has been a teacher assistant at Rise since 2000.
 
Hannah Shirley
Four Year Old Class
Graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School. She has been a teacher assistant at Rise since 2005. Previous experience includes four years at The First Baptist Children’s Center. 
 
Leah Welborn
Three Year Old Class
Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from The University of Alabama. Four years of previous experience as a preschool teacher. She has been a teacher assistant at Rise since 2005. 
 
Krista Winters
One Year Old Class
One year of previous experience before joining Rise as a teacher assistant in 1998.
 

Haley Green
Five Year Old Classroom
Haley graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Development.  Her previous experience at RISE includes substitute teaching as well as volunteer work.  She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Special Education at the University of Alabama.    


 

Ashley Pike
Four Year Old Class
Ashley is a graduate of Homewood High School and is pursuing a degree in Public Relations with a minor in Psychology at the University of Alabama. She will graduate in the Fall of 2010. She has 5 years of experience working with kids with special needs and has been working at RISE since 2008.

 

Corey Morrision
Two Year Old Classroom
Corey is a graduate of Tuscaloosa Christian School and has an Associate’s Degree in Science from Shelton State College. She has previously worked in the after school child care program at Tuscaloosa Christian School, as a Nursing Assistant at Curewell Medical Center and was a Medical Receptionist at University Medical Center in Pediatrics. She joined Rise in 2009.

 
Kellye Jackson, LPN
Two Year Old Classroom
Kellye has a Licensed Practical Nurse Diploma from Shelton State.  Previous work experience includes one year of pediatric nursing.  She joined Rise in 2010.
